The Marching Miners breaking out “Vice Versa,” one of my favorite stand tunes since hearing Mainland play it over 20 year ago at Wharton.
This was Freedom’s first year, my first with a flag with Wesley Chapel, long before Freedom.

It feels like a fast moving quarter, Freedom has held tough so far.
The press box is named for the late Rev. Lawrence F. Sthreshley Jr. a former prominent pastor and community member here in Ft. Meade.

Looks like a strong turnout for Fort Meade while it looks like 16 Freedom faithful, including Principal Stephenson and myself made the trip.
That’s beyond the players, coaches, and trainer. Awesome to see those who made this trip!
I’m liking the atmosphere, I just wish it was closer to home.

Fort Meade is “Fort Meade Middle-Senior High School” serving the City of Fort Meade.
Freedom High School and Liberty High School are part of the same campus, half and half, but are considered separate schools.
Obviously, being out of Tampa and one of nearly 30 high schools and numerous Middle Schools, Liberty/Freedom is larger.
Just a fun fact where this is a combined school, while Liberty/Freedom may share some areas, but are separate, but both are 6-12 campuses.
Anyways, back to the action with the Fighting Miners starting it off.
The Miners punted, Freedom did have the ball, but it looked like #19 straight up ripped the ball away from the returner for the takeaway.

Freedom got a bit lucky a messed up forward handoff was ruled an incomplete pass.

It seems like manpower is even, if not in favor of Freedom, but the Pats are being outclassed.
