Arkansas High School Football - Newport triumphant over Manila

The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR) and the visiting Manila Lions (Manila, AR), witnessed Newport's football squad wallop Manila by a tally of 52-0.

The Greyhounds (5-2) will now prepare for their contest against Walnut Ridge (Walnut Ridge, AR). The Bobcats enter the 3A Region 3 contest with a 5-2 record. In their last contest, Walnut Ridge was trounced by Rivercrest (Wilson, AR), 50-34, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Lions confront the Piggott Mohawks (Piggott, AR) in a 3A Region 3 bout, on Friday, October 24. Manila will attempt to advance on its 0-7 season record. The Mohawks go into the bout with a 0-7 record after their 47-20 league loss to Hoxie (Hoxie, AR).
