    The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Quincy Orioles (Quincy, MI) and the host Maple Valley Lions (Vermontville, MI), witnessed Quincy's football squad edge Maple Valley by a tally of 17-14.

    The Orioles (5-3) will now prepare for their contest against Hartford (Hartford, MI). The Huskies enter the non-league contest with a 3-5 record. In their last contest, Hartford got by Comstock (Kalamazoo, MI), 30-6, in a league contest.

    Coming up next, the Lions encounter the Cassopolis Rangers (Cassopolis, MI) in a non-league bout, on Friday, October 24. Maple Valley will attempt to advance on its 2-6 season record. The Rangers go into the bout with a 1-6 record after their 24-6 league loss to Centreville (Centreville, MI).
