Illinois High School Football - Centralia tops Mt. Vernon

The Centralia Orphans football squad scored 42 points and limited the host Mt. Vernon Rams to 16 in the Orphans league triumph on Friday.

The Orphans now sport a 5-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Effingham for a non-league test on Friday, October 25. Centralia will meet a Hearts squad coming off a 28-0 league loss to Mt. Zion (Mt. Zion, IL). The Hearts record now stands at 4-4.

With the defeat, Mt. Vernon drops to 3-5 on the campaign. The Rams travel to Alton (Alton, IL) to meet the Redbirds in a non-league test on Friday, October 25. The Redbirds come into the test with a record of 1-7. Alton won 30-17 in their recent league test against O'Fallon (O'Fallon, IL)
