The Giles Spartans football squad scored 41 points and limited the host Galax Maroon Tide to 40 in the Spartans league triumph on Friday.
The Spartans now sport a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they host Tazewell for a non-league test on Friday, October 25. Giles will meet a Bulldogs squad coming off a 31-7 league win over Marion (Marion, VA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-3.
With the defeat, Galax drops to 0-6 on the campaign. The Maroon tide travel to Richlands (Richlands, VA) to meet the Blue Tornado in a non-league test on Friday, October 25. The Blue Tornado come into the test with a record of 0-7. Richlands lost 48-12 in their recent league test against Virginia High (Bristol, VA)
