In Friday's league game, the Gilmer Buckeyes (Gilmer, TX) football team overcame the visiting Van Vandals (Van, TX), by a tally of 31-23.

In their next game, the Buckeyes battle the Pleasant Grove Hawks (Texarkana, TX) in a 4A-2 Region II District 7 game, on Friday, October 25. Gilmer will attempt to better on its 5-2 season record. The Hawks enter the game with a 5-2 record after their 56-14 league win over Spring Hill (Longview, TX).
