The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Powell Panthers (Powell, TN) and the host Knoxville Central Bobcats (Knoxville, TN), witnessed Powell's football squad topple Knoxville Central by a tally of 34-8.

The Panthers (7-2) will now prepare for their contest against McMinn County (Athens, TN). The Cherokees enter the non-league contest with a 5-4 record. In their last contest, McMinn County thwarted Howard Tech (Chattanooga, TN), 49-0, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Bobcats confront the Heritage Mountaineers (Maryville, TN) in a 5A Region 2 contest, on Friday, October 25. Knoxville Central will attempt to better on its 3-5 season record. The Mountaineers enter the contest with a 5-4 record after their 45-0 non-league win over Hoover (Des Moines, IA).
