Fans at Saturday's league contest between the St. Mark's Lions (Dallas, TX) and the host St. Stephen's Episcopal Spartans (Austin, TX), observed St. Mark's's volleyball team hold off St. Stephen's Episcopal by a count of 3-2.

The Lions (5-5) will now prepare for their battle against Casady (Oklahoma City, OK). The Cyclones go into the non-league battle with a 2-2 record. In their last battle, Casady was edged by Fort Worth Country Day (Fort Worth, TX), 3-1, in a non-league battle.

The Spartans now own a 3-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to St. Andrew's for a battle on Tuesday, October 21. St. Stephen's Episcopal will encounter a Highlanders squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Greenhill (Addison, TX). The Highlanders record now stands at 9-12.
