In Saturday's non-league test, the host Newport Cubs volleyball squad scored a 2-0 win over the Mazama Vikings.

With the win, Newport improves its record to 10-9 on the season. The Cubs travel to Klamath Union (Klamath Falls, OR) to face the Pelicans in a non-league test on Saturday, October 18. The Pelicans go into the test with a record of 5-11. Klamath Union won 3-2 in their recent league challenge against Mazama (Klamath Falls, OR)

Next, the Vikings meet the Hidden Valley Mustangs (Grants Pass, OR) in a 4A Skyline challenge, on Tuesday, October 21. Mazama will attempt to upgrade on its 4-16 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 3-16 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Eagle Point (Eagle Point, OR).
