The Shields Panthers football team (Beatrice, AL), was beaten 38-8 in Thursday's league challenge with the visiting Southern Choctaw Indians (Gilbertown, AL)
The Indians (3-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Fruitdale (Fruitdale, AL). The Pirates come into the 1A Region 1 challenge with a 1-8 record. In their last challenge, Fruitdale was beaten by Leroy (Leroy, AL), 42-16, in a league challenge.
The Panthers now sport a 0-8 record. They take the field next when they host Choctaw County for a 1A Region 1 challenge on Thursday, October 26. Shields will meet a Tigers team coming off a 30-18 league win over McIntosh (McIntosh, AL). The Tigers record now stands at 3-3.
