The Laney Buccaneers football team (Wilmington, NC), was tipped 36-35 in Thursday's non-league challenge with the host North Brunswick Scorpions (Leland, NC)
The Scorpions (7-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Ashley (Wilmington, NC). The Screaming Eagle come into the non-league challenge with a 3-4 record. In their last challenge, Ashley nipped Topsail (Hampstead, NC), 7-6, in a non-league challenge.
The Buccaneers now sport a 7-2 record. They take the field next when they host Topsail for a non-league challenge on Thursday, October 26. Laney will meet a Pirates team coming off a 7-6 non-league loss to Ashley (Wilmington, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 4-5.
