In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Waterloo East Trojans volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Des Moines North Polar Bears.

The Trojans (7-25) will now prepare for their challenge against Mason City (Mason City, IA). The Mohawks come into the Southeast challenge with a 1-29 record. In their last challenge, Mason City lost by Osage (Osage, IA), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Polar Bears play the Des Moines East Scarlets (Des Moines, IA) in a challenge, on Saturday, October 19. Des Moines North will attempt to upgrade on its 3-13 season record. The Scarlets come into the challenge with a 2-14 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Marshalltown (Marshalltown, IA).
