The Ida B. Wells Guardians volleyball team scored 2 points and restricted the visiting Newberg Tigers to 0 in the Guardians non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Guardians now possess a 12-11 record. They play next when they host McDaniel for a 6A Portland Interscholastic outing on Tuesday, October 22. Ida B. Wells will play a Mountain Lions team coming off a 3-0 league win over Franklin (Portland, OR). The Mountain Lions record now stands at 13-6.

With the loss, Newberg drops to 6-12 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Century (Hillsboro, OR) to play the Jaguars in a 6A Pacific challenge on Monday, October 21. The Jaguars enter the challenge with a record of 8-10. Century lost 3-1 in their recent league challenge against Forest Grove (Forest Grove, OR)
