Lovett Lions (Atlanta, GA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Marist War Eagles (Atlanta, GA), 12-11 in a non-league challenge.

The Lions now sport a 12-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pace Academy for a 4A Region 5 challenge on Wednesday, October 4. Lovett will face a Knights squad coming off a 25-21 league win over Woodland (Stockbridge, GA). The Knights record now stands at 8-5.

With the loss, Marist falls to 18-6 on the campaign. The War eagles host Dunwoody (Dunwoody, GA) to face the Wildcats in a 6A Region 4 challenge on Tuesday, October 3. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 5-15. Dunwoody lost 12-0 in their recent league challenge against North Atlanta (Atlanta, GA)
