Fans at Wednesday's non-league contest between the Serena Huskers (Serena, IL) and the visiting Marquette Crusaders (Ottawa, IL), observed Serena's volleyball team hold off Marquette by a count of 2-1.

The Huskers (10-4) will now prepare for their contest against Newark (Newark, IL). The Norsemen enter the non-league contest with a 2-0 record. In their last contest, Newark got by Illinois Math & Science Academy (Aurora, IL), 2-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Crusaders battle the Dwight Trojans (Dwight, IL) in a contest, on Thursday, October 10. Marquette will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record.
