The Mount Vernon Mustangs softball team scored 16 runs and held the host Woodward Academy War Eagles to 0 in the Mustangs non-league win on Wednesday.

The Mustangs now possess a 15-10 record.

With the loss, Woodward Academy moves to 10-10 on the season. The War eagles travel to Arabia Mountain (Lithonia, GA) to confront the Rams in a 5A Region 4 battle on Thursday, October 3. The Rams come into the battle with a record of 4-13. Arabia Mountain lost 15-0 in their recent league battle against Lakeside (Atlanta, GA)
