In Thursday's non-league outing, the Stuarts Draft Cougars (Stuarts Draft, VA) football squad defeated the visiting Alleghany Cougars (Covington, VA), by a tally of 24-6.
The Cougars (2-3) will now prepare for their contest against Staunton (Staunton, VA). The Storm enter the non-league contest with a 1-4 record. In their last contest, Staunton was toppled by Waynesboro (Waynesboro, VA), 42-0, in a non-league contest.
Coming up next, the Cougars battle the Buffalo Gap Bison (Swoope, VA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, October 9. Alleghany will attempt to advance on its 2-2 season record. The Bison go into the bout with a 5-1 record after their 55-0 non-league win over Rockbridge County (Lexington, VA).
