Virginia High School Football - Wilson Memorial sneaks past Fort Defiance

In Thursday's non-league match, the host Wilson Memorial Green Hornets football squad scored a close 22-20 triumph over the Fort Defiance Indians.

The Green Hornets (1-4) will now prepare for their match against Rockbridge County (Lexington, VA). The Wildcats come into the non-league match with a 2-4 record. In their last battle, Rockbridge County was tipped by Buffalo Gap (Swoope, VA), 55-0, in a non-league battle.

The Indians now have a 3-3 record. They play next when they host Riverheads for a non-league battle on Thursday, October 9. Fort Defiance will play a Gladiators team coming off a 37-14 non-league win over Wilson Memorial (Fishersville, VA). The Gladiators record now stands at 3-1.
