The Watauga Pioneers felled the visiting Freedom Patriots football team by a score of 29-16 in Thursday's non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Pioneers play the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) in a non-league test, on Thursday, October 9. Watauga will attempt to upgrade on its 4-0 season record. The Spartans come into the test with a 2-3 record after their 28-12 non-league win over McDowell (Marion, NC).

With the defeat, Freedom drops to 2-3 on the campaign. The Patriots host St. Stephens (Hickory, NC) to meet the Indians in a non-league test on Thursday, October 9. The Indians come into the test with a record of 3-3. St. Stephens lost 38-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC)
