South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) fans went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting McDowell Titans (Marion, NC), 28-12 in a non-league battle.

With the win, South Caldwell improves its record to 2-3 on the season. The Spartans host Watauga (Boone, NC) to play the Pioneers in a non-league battle on Thursday, October 9. The Pioneers go into the match with a record of 4-0. Watauga won 29-16 in their recent non-league match against Freedom (Morganton, NC)

Coming up next, the Titans meet the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) in a match, on Thursday, October 9. McDowell will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Cougars come into the match with a 3-3 record after their 38-6 non-league win over St. Stephens (Hickory, NC).
