Maize South Mavericks (Wichita, KS) backers exited the stadium in high spirits Thursday as they observed their soccer squad knock off the host South Cougars (Salina, KS), 3-1 in a league outing.

The Mavericks (8-1) will now prepare for their outing against Hutchinson (Hutchinson, KS). The Salthawks go into the Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division I outing with a 4-4 record. In their last outing, Hutchinson got by Arkansas City (Arkansas City, KS), 8-0, in a non-league outing.

Next, the Cougars clash with the Derby Panthers (Derby, KS) in a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division I game, on Tuesday, October 7. South will attempt to advance on its 7-4 season record.
