The Southwestern Piasa Birds smashed the visiting Vandalia Vandals soccer team by a tally of 9-0 in Thursday's league game.

Next, the Piasa Birds face the Greenville Comets (Greenville, IL) in a South Central game, on Tuesday, October 7. Southwestern will attempt to advance on its 10-6 season record.

The Vandals (2-12) will now prepare for their game against Staunton (Staunton, IL). The Bulldogs go into the South Central challenge with a 9-7 record. In their last challenge, Staunton was overwhelmed by Litchfield (Litchfield, IL), 4-0, in a league challenge.
