Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Rio Grande Ravens (Albuquerque, NM) and the host Belen Eagles (Belen, NM), observed Rio Grande's volleyball team top Belen by a count of 3-1.
The Ravens (7-8) will now prepare for their contest against Albuquerque (Albuquerque, NM). The Bulldogs enter the 5A District 5 battle with a 11-3 record. In their last battle, Albuquerque was defeated by Las Cruces (Las Cruces, NM), 3-0, in a non-league battle.
The Eagles now own a 10-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Del Norte for a non-league battle on Saturday, October 4. Belen will encounter a Knights squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Rio Grande (Albuquerque, NM). The Knights record now stands at 1-11.
