Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Holy Cross Crusaders (Waterbury, CT) and the host Waterbury Career Academy Spartans (Waterbury, CT), observed Holy Cross's volleyball team top Waterbury Career Academy by a count of 3-0.

The Crusaders (9-3) will now prepare for their battle against Wolcott (Wolcott, CT). The Eagles go into the Naugatuck Valley battle with a 4-4 record.

The Spartans now own a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Derby for a Naugatuck Valley battle on Tuesday, October 7. Waterbury Career Academy will encounter a Red Raiders squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Woodland Regional (Beacon Falls, CT). The Red Raiders record now stands at 4-7.
