In Thursday's non-league challenge, the visiting Powell County Pirates volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Morgan County Cougars.

The Pirates (12-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Estill County (Irvine, KY). The Engineers come into the non-league challenge with a 5-21 record. In their last test, Estill County achieved victory over Owsley County (Booneville, KY), 3-0, in a league test.

The Cougars now own a 4-15 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bath County for a non-league test on Monday, October 6. Morgan County will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Fairview (Ashland, KY). The Wildcats record now stands at 2-11.
