The Echols County Wildcats got by the visiting Montgomery County Eagles softball squad by a count of 6-5 in Thursday's non-league battle.

The Wildcats (7-13) will now prepare for their battle against Baconton Charter (Baconton, GA). The Blazers go into the non-league battle with a 22-9 record. In their last battle, Baconton Charter was edged by Hawkinsville (Hawkinsville, GA), 13-5, in a non-league battle.

The Eagles now sport a 10-15 record.
