In Friday's league match, the visiting East Wilkes Cardinals football squad scored a good 33-7 victory over the Alleghany Trojans.
In their next game, the Cardinals clash with the North Stokes Vikings (Danbury, NC) in a Northwest 1A match, on Friday, October 27. East Wilkes will attempt to move on its 5-4 season record. The Vikings enter the match with a 1-8 record after their 28-21 league loss to South Stokes (Walnut Cove, NC).
The Trojans (4-5) will now prepare for their match against Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC). The Granite Bears enter the Northwest 1A match with a 9-0 record. In their last match, Mount Airy ran past Elkin (Elkin, NC), 63-0, in a league match.
