Texas High School Football - Commerce succumbs to Mount Vernon

October 20, 2023: Mount Vernon, TX 75457

The Mount Vernon Tigers thwarted the visiting Commerce Tigers football team by a count of 38-13 in Friday's league outing.

With the win, Mount Vernon upgrades its record to 6-3 on the season. The Tigers travel to Pottsboro (Pottsboro, TX) to confront the Cardinals in a 3A-1 Region II District 5 outing on Friday, November 3. The Cardinals go into the outing with a record of 7-1.

With the loss, Commerce moves to 6-2 on the season. The Tigers host Pottsboro (Pottsboro, TX) to confront the Cardinals in a 3A-1 Region II District 5 outing on Friday, October 27. The Cardinals go into the outing with a record of 7-1. Pottsboro won 62-28 in their recent league outing against Rains (Emory, TX)
