In Friday's league game, the Pope John Paul II Jaguars (Slidell, LA) football team tipped the visiting Independence Tigers (Independence, LA), by a final score of 36-30.
The Jaguars (6-2) will now prepare for their game against Springfield (Springfield, LA). The Bulldogs come into the 2A District 7 game with a 4-4 record. In their last game, Springfield was tipped by St. Helena College and Career Academy (Greensburg, LA), 44-16, in a league game.
The Tigers now hold a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they host St. Thomas Aquinas for a 2A District 7 game on Friday, October 27. Independence will battle a Falcons team coming off a 20-8 league win over Northlake Christian (Covington, LA). The Falcons record now stands at 3-5.
