In Friday's league game, the Monessen Greyhounds (Monessen, PA) football team were victorious over the visiting Mapletown Maples (Greensboro, PA), by a score of 36-20.
The Greyhounds (3-6) will now prepare for their game against Bethlehem Center (Fredericktown, PA). The Bulldogs come into the WPIAL A Tri-County South game with a 3-6 record. In their last game, Bethlehem Center was knocked off by California (Coal Center, PA), 62-6, in a league game.
The Maples now sport a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they host West Greene for a WPIAL A Tri-County South game on Friday, October 27. Mapletown will meet a Pioneers team coming off a 31-16 league win over Jefferson-Morgan (Jefferson, PA). The Pioneers record now stands at 7-2.
