The Merkel Badgers football team (Merkel, TX), was ripped 50-7 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Jacksboro Tigers (Jacksboro, TX)

The Tigers (5-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Millsap (Millsap, TX). The Bulldogs come into the 3A-2 Region II District 5 challenge with a 5-3 record. In their last challenge, Millsap trounced Eastland (Eastland, TX), 41-28, in a league challenge.

The Badgers now sport a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they host Comanche for a 3A-2 Region II District 5 challenge on Friday, October 28. Merkel will meet a Indians team coming off a 77-7 league win over Dublin (Dublin, TX). The Indians record now stands at 7-1.
