In Friday's league game, the Mt. Pleasant Vikings (Mt. Pleasant, PA) football team smashed the visiting South Allegheny Gladiators (McKeesport, PA), by a score of 42-0.

The Vikings (5-4) will now prepare for their game against Southmoreland (Alverton, PA). The Scotties come into the WPIAL AAA Interstate game with a 4-5 record. In their last game, Southmoreland was ripped by Belle Vernon (Belle Vernon, PA), 48-0, in a non-league game.

The Gladiators now sport a 1-8 record. They take the field next when they host Greensburg Salem for a WPIAL AAA Interstate game on Friday, October 28. South Allegheny will meet a Golden Lions team coming off a 62-13 non-league loss to Elizabeth Forward (Elizabeth, PA). The Golden Lions record now stands at 3-6.
