North Carolina High School Football - Swain County held off by Murphy

October 21, 2022: Murphy, NC 28906

In Friday's league game, the Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC) football team got by the visiting Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC), by a score of 20-14.

The Bulldogs (7-2) will now prepare for their game against Andrews (Andrews, NC). The Wildcats come into the 1A West Conference 43 game with a 9-0 record. In their last game, Andrews nipped Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC), 28-12, in a league game.

The Maroon Devils now sport a 3-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cherokee for a 1A West Conference 43 game on Friday, October 28. Swain County will battle a Braves team coming off a 28-21 league win over Hayesville (Hayesville, NC). The Braves record now stands at 2-7.
