In Friday's non-league contest, the Viborg/Hurley Cougars (Viborg, SD) volleyball squad knocked off the visiting Hanson Beavers (Alexandria, SD), by a margin of 3-1.

Next up, the Cougars battle the Alcester-Hudson Cubs (Alcester, SD) in a B Region 5 contest, on Monday, October 24. Viborg/Hurley will attempt to better on its 16-12 season record. The Cubs come into the contest with a 10-18 record after their 3-0 league win over Freeman Academy/Marion (Freeman, SD).

With the loss, Hanson drops to 10-15 on the campaign. The Beavers travel to McCook Central/Montrose (Salem, SD) to battle the Fighting Cougars in a non-league contest on Monday, October 24. The Fighting Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 17-7. McCook Central/Montrose won 3-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Canistota (Canistota, SD)
