In Saturday's non-league game, the Academy of the New Church Lions (Bryn Athyn, PA) football team knocked off the host St. Andrew's Cardinals (Middletown, DE), by a final score of 36-12.
The Lions (6-1) will now prepare for their game against Belmont Charter (Philadelphia, PA). The Tigers come into the non-league game with a 3-5 record. In their last game, Belmont Charter was dropped by Martin Luther King (Philadelphia, PA), 28-6, in a league game.
The Cardinals now hold a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they host Indian River for a 1A District 2 game on Friday, October 27. St. Andrew's will battle a Indians team coming off a 49-12 league win over Early College (Dover, DE). The Indians record now stands at 4-3.
