The Los Alamos Hilltoppers (Los Alamos, NM) volleyball overcame the visiting Menaul Panthers (Albuquerque, NM), 3-0 in Saturday's non-league outing.
With the win, Los Alamos upgrades its record to 14-6 on the year. The Hilltoppers travel to Taos (Taos, NM) to face the Tigers in a 4A District 2 outing on Thursday, October 27. The Tigers go into the outing with a record of 7-12.
The Panthers now own a 12-5 record. They play next when they host Tierra Encantada for a 2A District 2 outing on Tuesday, October 25. Menaul will face a squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Monte Del Sol Charter (Santa Fe, NM). The record now stands at 1-9.
Match Summary
The Toppers hosted the Panthers from Menaul in a late out of district match. The Toppers were short their starting setter and one Middle hitter. Anna Kirkland stepped in as setter and Mairen Hoch and Dani Trellue tagged teamed the middle position. The Toppers were able to generate 22 kills, 9 aces and 49 points off serve this morning. All Topper players were able to get touches and produce on the court. The Toppers get 4 days of practice in preparation for their trip to face the Taos Tigers.
