Fans at Tuesday's non-league contest between the Southwestern Randolph Cougars (Asheboro, NC) and the visiting Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC), observed Southwestern Randolph's volleyball team top Newton-Conover by a count of 3-0.

The Cougars (16-11) will now prepare for their contest against West Stanly (Oakboro, NC). The Colts enter the non-league contest with a 23-2 record. In their last contest, West Stanly notched a victory over West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC), 3-0, in a non-league contest.

This match is a part of the 2024 NCHSAA Volleyball Championships - 2A tournament
