In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Ayden - Grifton Chargers volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Franklin Academy Patriots.

The Chargers (18-3) will now prepare for their battle against SouthWest Edgecombe (Pinetops, NC). The Cougars come into the non-league battle with a 20-5 record. In their last battle, SouthWest Edgecombe achieved victory over Manteo (Manteo, NC), 3-0, in a non-league battle.
