New Mexico High School Football - Highland can't hold off Capital

Capital Jaguars (Santa Fe, NM) fans went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football team tip the visiting Highland Hornets (Albuquerque, NM), 23-21 in a league battle.

With the triumph, Capital upgrades its record to 3-6 on the campaign. The Jaguars travel to Belen (Belen, NM) to meet the Eagles in a 5A District 1 test on Thursday, October 30. The Eagles come into the test with a record of 5-4. Belen won 50-12 in their recent league challenge against Rio Grande (Albuquerque, NM)

The Hornets (5-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Del Norte (Albuquerque, NM). The Knights go into the 5A District 1 challenge with a 1-8 record. In their last challenge, Del Norte was edged by Miyamura (Gallup, NM), 50-6, in a league challenge.
