In Thursday's league match, the host Locust Grove Pirates football squad scored a close 24-22 victory over the Stigler Panthers.

The Pirates (1-7) will now prepare for their match against Holland Hall (Tulsa, OK). The Dutch go into the 3A District 3 battle with a 7-1 record. In their last battle, Holland Hall tipped Muldrow (Muldrow, OK), 19-8, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Panthers confront the Muldrow Bulldogs (Muldrow, OK) in a 3A District 3 match, on Friday, October 31. Stigler will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Bulldogs come into the match with a 4-4 record after their 19-8 league loss to Holland Hall (Tulsa, OK).
