Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) fans went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host McDowell Titans (Marion, NC), 48-28 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Watauga improves its record to 8-0 on the season. The Pioneers host St. Stephens (Hickory, NC) to meet the Indians in a non-league test on Thursday, October 30. The Indians come into the test with a record of 5-4. St. Stephens won 30-14 in their recent non-league test against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC)

With the defeat, McDowell drops to 1-7 on the campaign. The Titans host Freedom (Morganton, NC) to meet the Patriots in a non-league test on Thursday, October 30. The Patriots come into the test with a record of 4-4. Freedom lost 18-16 in their recent league test against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC)
