Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Gates County Red Barons (Gatesville, NC) and the host East Wake Academy Eagles (Zebulon, NC), observed Gates County's volleyball team top East Wake Academy by a count of 3-1.
The Red Barons (16-8) will now prepare for their contest against Perquimans (Hertford, NC). The Pirates enter the non-league contest with a 26-3 record. In their last contest, Perquimans notched a victory over Eno River Academy (Hillsborough, NC), 3-0, in a non-league contest.
