The University City Centurions volleyball team scored 3 points and limited the host Fallbrook Warriors to 1 in the Centurions non-league victory on Tuesday.
The Centurions now have a 20-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Helix for a non-league game on Friday, October 27. University City will meet a Highlanders team coming off a 3-0 league win over West Hills (Santee, CA). The Highlanders record now stands at 22-8.
Match Summary
1st Round of C.I.F. DIV II Playoffs #8 Fallbrook vs #9 University City. These two teams were evenly matched, but on this night University City proved to be the more dominant team. With 22 Aces during the match would make a great different in their success, as well as the 40 off target passes on the serve receive end, which made it difficult for setter to set hitters. We didn't do well on the defensive side ball with 28 digging errors and and 13 blocking errors. Whenever one got within one point to taking the lead someone would make a fatal error or the referee would miss a call, so finishing is something that we needed to improve on tonight. I must say that we did outstanding from the serving line.
