The Grand Lake Hornets football squad scored 47 points and held the host Merryville Panthers to 22 in the Hornets league victory on Thursday.

The Hornets (4-3) will now prepare for their contest against Elton (Elton, LA). The Indians enter the 1A District 4 contest with a 6-2 record. In their last contest, Elton thwarted Basile (Basile, LA), 22-6, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Panthers confront the Hamilton Christian Warriors (Lake Charles, LA) in a 1A District 4 contest, on Thursday, October 31. Merryville will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Warriors enter the contest with a 6-2 record after their 49-12 league win over Oberlin (Oberlin, LA).
