Texas High School Football - Mercedes prevails Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest

In Thursday's league match, the visiting Mercedes Tigers football squad scored a good 40-13 triumph over the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest Javelinas.

The Tigers (5-3) will now prepare for their match against Porter (Brownsville, TX). The Cowboys come into the 5A-2 Region IV District 16 match with a 0-8 record. In their last match, Porter was beaten by Lopez (Brownsville, TX), 31-10, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Javelinas meet the Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets (Edcouch, TX) in a 5A-2 Region IV District 16 match, on Friday, November 1. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest will attempt to upgrade on its 1-7 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the match with a 6-2 record after their 28-26 league win over Pace (Brownsville, TX).
