In Thursday's league match, the visiting Thornton Academy Trojans football squad scored a decisive 48-0 triumph over the Sanford Spartans.
The Trojans (8-2) will now prepare for their match against Scarborough (Scarborough, ME). The Red Storm come into the A South match with a 2-6 record. In their last match, Scarborough was routed by South Portland (South Portland, ME), 39-20, in a league match.
Coming up next, the Spartans meet the Noble Knights (North Berwick, ME) in a A South match, on Friday, November 1. Sanford will attempt to upgrade on its 1-7 season record. The Knights come into the match with a 6-2 record after their 21-14 league loss to Bonny Eagle (Standish, ME).
