In Thursday's league challenge, the host Ponchatoula Green Wave volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Covington Lions.
The Green Wave (17-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Hammond (Hammond, LA). The Tornadoes come into the Division I District 6 challenge with a 12-13 record.
Next, the Lions play the Mandeville Skippers (Mandeville, LA) in a Division I District 6 challenge, on Tuesday, October 29. Covington will attempt to upgrade on its 15-16 season record. The Skippers come into the challenge with a 7-25 record after their 3-2 non-league win over St. Scholastica (Covington, LA).
