East Carteret Mariners (Beaufort, NC) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team triumph over the visiting Jones Trojans (Trenton, NC), 56-0 in a league battle.

With the win, East Carteret advances its record to 4-5 on the season. The Mariners host Pamlico County (Bayboro, NC) to play the Hurricanes in a Coastal Plains 1A/2A battle on Friday, October 31. The Hurricanes go into the battle with a record of 2-7. Pamlico County won 42-19 in their recent league battle against Lejeune (Camp Lejeune, NC)

The Trojans now own a 0-9 record. They take the field next when they host Northside - Pinetown for a Coastal Plains 1A/2A match on Thursday, October 30. Jones will confront a Panthers squad coming off a 35-0 league win over Southside (Chocowinity, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 9-0.
