Patriot Pioneers (Nokesville, VA) boosters were happy Friday as they witnessed their football squad topple the visiting Independence (Ashburn, VA), 28-13 in a league match.

The Pioneers (6-2) will now prepare for their match against Gar-Field (Woodbridge, VA). The Red Wolves enter the non-league match with a 6-2 record. In their last match, Gar-Field prevailed over Hylton (Woodbridge, VA), 63-6, in a league battle.

The now own a 5-3 record. They play next when they travel to Gainesville for a Cedar Run battle on Friday, October 31. Independence will confront a Cardinals squad coming off a 33-27 league loss to Osbourn (Manassas, VA). The Cardinals record now stands at 2-6.
