The Jackson Central Merry Cougars football squad scored 40 points and limited the visiting Union City Golden Tornadoes to 13 in the Cougars league triumph on Friday.

The Cougars now sport a 4-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Halls for a non-league test on Thursday, October 30. Jackson Central Merry will meet a Tigers squad coming off a 59-7 non-league win over Gibson County (Dyer, TN). The Tigers record now stands at 3-6.

With the defeat, Union City drops to 3-6 on the campaign. The Golden tornadoes travel to Huntingdon (Huntingdon, TN) to face the Mustangs in a 2A Region 7 challenge on Thursday, October 30. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 8-1. Huntingdon won 40-21 in their recent league challenge against Peabody (Trenton, TN)
